On Tuesday afternoon, 19 September 2023, a bus of a private company fell into the canal on Sri Muktsar Sahib Kotakpura Marg. As soon as the incident was reported, the district administration started the relief work and with the help of NDRF teams, the search is on for the people stuck in the canal.
District Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ruhi Dug IAS has informed that so far there is a sad news of 8 deaths while 11 people have been injured. 2 of the injured have been discharged after initial treatment while the rest of the injured are also out of danger. are out and they don’t have much injuries. 5 of the deceased have been identified. 5 of the deceased are women.
Therefore, the district administration has establispuhed a control room at Civil Hospital Sri Muktsar Sahib. The number of this 24 hours control room is 01633-262175. The injured are being treated at Civil Hospital Sri Muktsar Sahib.
